U.S. lawmakers are examining the growing use of AI surveillance pricing, in which companies may use information such as location, browsing activity, shopping habits and family circumstances to personalize prices.
CGTN's Sean Callebs spoke with Jennifer Golbeck, Professor at the University of Maryland's College of Information, about how data brokers collect and sell consumer information, why AI-powered pricing is raising concerns and where regulation may be needed.
