WATCH: The High Commission of Ghana in South Africa has urged Ghanaians living in the country to remain indoors and keep their businesses closed as tensions rise over an anti-immigrant demonstration expected to take place on Tuesday, June 30.

In a public advisory video, Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Quashie, assured Ghanaian nationals that the Mission, together with the Government of Ghana, remains committed to ensuring their safety.

He advised Ghanaians to stay at the various accommodations arranged by the High Commission and avoid unnecessary movement as preparations continue for another evacuation exercise expected to resume next week.

The Mission says it remains in close contact with Ghanaian nationals while monitoring developments across affected areas.
