The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a major investment of over GHS3 million to provide footballs to clubs across both the topflight and lower divisions for the upcoming season beginning in September.
This initiative aims to support club development and alleviate the financial burden of equipment acquisition.
At the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence, Mr. Okraku disclosed that the GFA, in partnership with FIFA, will allocate $100,000 towards purchasing footballs for grassroots development.
“Football is all about balls. So our strategic plan to collaborate with FIFA to invest $100,000 in the purchase of football for grassroots football development will be repeated.”
In addition, the GFA plans to invest another $100,000 specifically for colt clubs, underscoring their commitment to fostering young talent and equipping them with the necessary resources.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is set to commence on September 6.
