The Information Minister-designate has stated that the soon to be constituted Normalization Committee to reform the Ghana Football Association will complete its work by the end of March 2019.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed that the committee will work with the government, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
Government has already taken practical steps to discontinue the liquidation of GFA by filing a motion at an Accra High Court to withdraw the petition following the Anas Number 12 Corruption expose’ documentary.
It is in fulfilment of an agreement signed between the government and the FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland where both sides decided to establish a normalization committee that would replace the GFA’s Executive Committee.
“Once the GFA status meets the requirement of FIFA and CAF, this normalization committee will organize and conduct elections of the GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA status,” he said.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah also disclosed that government was expecting a delegation from FIFA and CAF to the country to assess the suitability of the names proposed by government for the Normalization Committee.
The committee will be expected to pave way for the reorganization of Ghana Football moving forward and will be tasked to complete all reforms before March 2019.
