
Al Ahli Shendi is located in northern Sudan situated on the East Bank of the Nile River. The club was founded in 1943 and has no league or cup title up to date.

The Sudanese club qualified this year’s CAF Confederations Cup by virtue of placing third in the Sudanese League, 11 points behind champions Al-Merikkh. They qualified to the second round after drawing a bye in the first round.

They then beat Congolese side St.Eloi Lupopo in the first round on the away goal’s rule to set up a date with Medeama. The club boasts of a 10,000 seater stadium called Shendi stadium.

The team is predominantly made up of Sudanese nationals with Nigerian striker Osunwa Collins Kelechi and midfielder Yasir Mozamil Mohamed the only ones to find the net for the Sudanese in the competition so far.

The club is currently managed by Brazilian Mirandinha. He is a former professional Brazilian footballer who won four caps for the Brazilian national team.
