John Mensah has secured a move to Swedish second tier side Athletic FC United after signing a a year deal.
The former Black Stars captain completed his move to the Swedish side on Friday evening.
The 33-year-old had his career almost truncated after last playing for FC Nitra in Slovakia.
John Mensah had a successful playing career with Rennes and Lyon in France before moving to England where he starred for Sunderland before sustaining a career threatening injury.
The strong defender dubbed 'The Rock of Gibraltar' was a member of the Black Stars squad that qualified Ghana to her maiden World Cup in Germany in 2006.
Mensah is highly tipped to push Superettan with his experience both at club and national level.
