Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo was on target for Sogndal in their 3-0 thrashing of Brann in the Norwegian second tier league match played on Sunday.
Otoo struck in the 20th minute to give the visitors a 2-0 lead after Kristian Opseth had opened the scoring after five minutes.
Opseth scored two more goals to complete his hat trick as Sogndal firmed their grip on top spot.
The win sees Eirik Bakke's side open up an 11-point lead at the top of 1 Division after 13 rounds of matches.
Sogndal are looking to make a quick return to the top tier league following their demotion last season.
