GFA President pushes for infrastructure development

President of the Ghana Football Association says there's a need to channel more investment into infrastructure to allow young players develop their talents.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, on Thursday made the submission to the Presidential Commission looking into Ghana's exit at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Though lauding the efforts already in place in developing football at the district level, Nyantakyi strongly advocated the need for the State to increase its funding to help promote the game at the grassroots.

Ghanaian players have maintained strong commitment to achieve their dreams despite the poor pitches across the country.

“For some of the pitches, Europeans will not even want to walk on them let alone play football…they don't promote football [but] rather they promote injuries” Nyantakyi said.

Nyantakyi was discharged by the Commission on Thursday after making his third appearance.
