Nyantakyi, Kwesi Appiah awarded in Bechem

President Kwesi Nyantakyi has been awarded for his exemplary managerial skills with the Ghana Football Association that has earned Ghana major triumphs.

Under his administration, the Black Stars have qualified for three-straight World Cups, reaching the quarter-finals in the 2010 edition.

The men's U-20 team became the first side from Africa to win the World Cup and the women's U-17 side, the Black Maidens, who won bronze at the 2012 World Cup in Azerbaijan was the furthest by an African side at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

The honour of 'Most Successful GFA President' was bestowed upon him by the Bechem Traditional Council and Top Kings Foundation on Saturday during a special evening ceremony in Bechem, Brong Ahafo Region.

Put together by Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, Owner of Premier League side, Bechem United, the annual awards rewards natives of Bechem for their contributions to the community and the nation at large.

Also on the list of persons who received awards at the XIV edition of the ceremony were several football people.

For being the first local to qualify the Black Stars to the men's senior World Cup, coach Kwesi Appiah picked an award.

His assistant, Maxwell Konadu together with players Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, who all hail from the Brong Ahafo Region were also rewarded.

Abraham Boakye, popularly known as One Man Supporter, was recognised for his contributions to the national teams by way of mobilizing support.

Also players of Premiership side, Bechen United were also handed awards.
