Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has been line-up a transfer target of Liverpool who are in need of a defensive midfielder.
Reports in the UK say the Udinese player is in Brendan Rodgers' list of January targets.
The 23-year-old has been personally recommended to Rodgers by his European scouts.
Liverpool have been informed of the player's desire to play in the Premier League, and are now planning a £7million bid.
Agyemang-Badu, who can play in both midfield and defence, has made 11 Serie A appearances for Udinese this term.
He came close to signing for Stoke City during the summer transfer.
