Kojo Bonsu Bids For GFA Chairmanship

The publisher of 'AGOO' magazine Kojo Mensah has launched his bid to capture the Ghana Football Association chairmanship crown.

In an interview with the Ghanaian radio station HOT FM in London, the former executive member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko confirmed his interest in the position and briefly outlined his programmes for the FA if he is chosen.

He said ' my primary concern will be about galvanising the talents Ghana has into a team that can send Ghana to the World Cup in 2006'.He said there will be massive interest in the local league under his leadership am will frequently play friendly organise matches in Europe for the national team the Black Stars.

Kojo Bonsu pointed out that ' the junior national teams will be brought back to its position as number one in the world without falsifying of ages of players'. He spoke about development of local coaches by sending them on international courses as well as referees and the medical team of the various teams in Ghana.

He spoke about the involvement of the private sector in football development and acknowledged that without private sponsorship football will not thrive well. He said his contacts both home and abroad would bring massive private sponsorship for the game.

Asked if he would encourage government to nominate the candidates for the FA chairmanship position, he answered to the affirmative and added that once government finances the national teams it should have a major say in deciding whom the FA chairman should be.

Kojo Bonsu was scheduled to have met the billionaire chairman of Chelsea Roman Abrahamovic over football business but it is not known if it relates to his GFA chairmanship quest.
