PARRY & COMPANY Limited, the sole distributors of Star Kist Tuna in Ghana and West Africa, has unveiled a new look of its premium brand, Star Kist tuna flakes in Sunflower oil at an elegant ceremony in Accra.
While the look of Star Kist tuna flakes has changed, the distinctive, fresh wholesome taste and aroma remain the same and true to the original recipe.
The new look of Star Kist tuna flakes has been carefully crafted with high-tech lithograph can, which would seal the quality and differentiate it from other products of the company's competitors.
The label now has a modern design that reflects its status as one of the distinct and iconic brands in Ghana and the sub-region as it is sturdier and not easily dented.
Star Kist, a 100 percent Ghanaian product of Pioneer Food Cannery, is a heritage of the company which is packed with vitamin E and Omega 3 for vital nourishment in every flake.
It remains one of the success stories of Ghanaian companies.
Speaking at the media launch Sunday, Daniel Twimasie, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Parry & Co, noted that he was proud of the investment the company had made to deliver the Star Kist lithograph cans.
“This is the first stage; all the other variants, including the popular Star Kist "Kpakpo Shito, chunks and smoke flavour will soon be re-packaged in the new look lithograph cans,” Mr. Twimasie pledged.
He was optimism that the new Lithograph look would help the brand to stay relevant to its increasingly sophisticated target market as well as create a technological barrier to counterfeiting in Ghana and the rest of the sub-region where it operates.
Unveiling the New Look of Starkist Tuna Flake, the immediate past President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and Managing Director (MD) of Tropical Cables and Conductor Company Limited, Tony Oteng-Gyasi identified the various challenges and bemoaned counterfeiting and importation of inferior products into the country.
He encouraged Ghanaian businesses to emulate the Pioneer Food cannery/Parry & Co's collaboration, which has led to the honing of knowledge and skills.
The event was well-attended by the customers and consumers of Starkist Tuna, who were treated to various Star Kist snacks and dishes.
Star Kist, which is endorsed by the Ghana Standards Board (GSB) and Food and Drugs Board (FDB), is available in supermarkets and retail outlets across the country.
