French club Stade Rennes are on the brink of signing Ghana international Asamoah Gyan from Udinese in Italy.
He is to cost the club, who first tried to buy him after the 2006 World Cup finals, a sum of 8 million Euros.
But it is not sure whether Gyan will team up with Black Stars colleague John Mensah next season.
The central defender, known as 'the Rock of Gibraltar' has been linked with a move to English clubs Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic.
