Former Ghana international Samuel Osei Kuffour will spend the remaining half of the season in the Dutch Eredivisie with giants Ajax Amsterdam.
The 31-year-old defender is on loan from Italian side AS Roma and will have a permanent move completed should he impress at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Kuffour was on loan at Livorno last season and has been struggling to find a new club after trials at Sunderland fell through last summer. He will undergo medical test at Ajax on Monday.
Kuffour was a UEFA Champions League winner with Bayern Munich in 2001,where he served the club for 11 years.
Ajax has been in long search for a substitute for Dutchman Jaap Stam.
