Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been shortlisted for the 2026 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award following an impressive season for club and country.
The 26-year-old is among 10 players nominated for the prestigious continental accolade, which recognises the outstanding performer in African football.
Semenyo earned his place on the shortlist after an impressive 2025/2026 campaign, during which he starred for AFC Bournemouth before completing a move to Manchester City in January 2026.
He faces strong competition from a number of established African stars, including Ivorian Amad Diallo and Moroccan trio Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari and Brahim Diaz.
DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa, South African midfielder Teboho Mokoena and Senegalese trio Ismaila Sarr, Pape Gueye and Sadio Mane complete the list of nominees.
Semenyo scored 13 goals in 35 appearances during the campaign, including the winning goal in the previous season's FA Cup final.
He also made history by becoming the first Ghanaian footballer to earn a place in the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Premier League Team of the Year.
At international level, the forward played an important role in Ghana's campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, helping the Black Stars reach the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
His contributions for both club and country have strengthened his case for the award, although he will face a competitive field of nominees.
The Manchester City forward, who is currently sidelined with an injury, has registered two goals and three assists in eight appearances across all competitions this season.
The 2026 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 7, with the continent's finest players and other football personalities set to be recognised for their achievements during the eligibility period.
