Cabic Promotions introduces regional boxing competition ahead of November 6 fight night

Cabic Promotions and Management is stepping up efforts to promote boxing across Ghana's regions, with a new clubs competition set to feature at the upcoming Cabic Pound 4 Pound Night of Glory on November 6, 2026.

The initiative is aimed at creating a competitive pathway for boxers across the country, allowing regional champions to face one another before competing for national titles.

Former Cabic Promotions and Management chief executive Ivan Bruce Cudjoe had previously pledged to involve all regions in Ghana's boxing development, a commitment that is now taking shape through the proposed competition.

The November 6 event will feature five club contests, with participating gyms competing for an attractive prize.

The fixtures include Sea View's Isaac Aryeetey against George Dowuona, known as Will Power, in a bantamweight contest.

Attoh Quarshie's Michael Bibi will face Nasiru Yahaya of Black Panthers at catchweight, while Emmanuel Mawuli of Charles Quartey Gym takes on Daniel Otoo of Bukom Gym in a super-bantamweight bout.

Moses Amon of The Gym will meet Philip Quansah of Akotoku Academy in the welterweight division, with Elisha Nterbigma of Panix Gym scheduled to face an opponent yet to be named from Wisdom Gym.

The fight night will also feature three major African title contests.

Emmanuel Mankattah Sackey will face Ezekiel Annan for the WBO Africa lightweight championship, while Kofi Dana takes on Raimi Isiaka for the WBO Africa super-welterweight title.

Samuel Opaogun, popularly known as Omo Daddy, will battle Jesse Lartey for the WBA Africa Gold welterweight championship.

Elsewhere on the card, Daniel Lartey, nicknamed Scorpion, is scheduled to face Isaac Quartey in a middleweight contest.

The event will be staged as a special banquet boxing night at Cleaver House, with table reservations available for patrons seeking an evening of entertainment and professional boxing.

Several of the boxers, including hard-hitting Emmanuel Sackey, were introduced to the media last Saturday ahead of the event.

National bantamweight champion Daniel Otoo, who represents Bukom Gym, welcomed the initiative, saying it would address one of the major challenges facing local boxers.

He noted that many fighters spend long periods training without getting opportunities to compete, leaving them frustrated and affecting their development.

Coaches who attended a stakeholders' meeting also used the opportunity to outline their concerns and challenges, expressing hope that their requests would be addressed to improve the sport.

The November 6 event is expected to provide a platform for local boxing clubs while offering Ghanaian fighters an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete for major honours.
