FC Ashantigold 04 have parted ways with head coach and technical director Abdul Karim Kabutey Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere and goalkeepers' trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect.
The Ghana Premier League club announced the decision in a statement on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, following a consultative meeting of its Interim Management Committee on Monday.
Ashantigold did not disclose the reasons behind the dismissals but confirmed that all three members of the technical team had been relieved of their duties.
Zito joined the club ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season after leaving Asante Kotoko, taking on the dual role of head coach and technical director.
The club has appointed a caretaker coach to oversee the team while management works towards naming a substantive head coach and technical director.
However, the identity of the interim coach has not been disclosed, and no timeline has been given for the appointment of permanent replacements.
In a statement signed by chief executive officer Edward Kwasi Akuoko, Ashantigold thanked Zito, Okyere and Dabo for their contributions and service to the club, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
The decision comes as Ashantigold seek to improve their fortunes in the league, with the club currently 10th in the standings after eight matches, having collected 11 points.
The Miners dropped points against Asante Kotoko in the Ashanti Derby and will look to respond when they travel to face Swedru All Blacks on Sunday.
The Matchday Nine fixture is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT at the Swedru Stadium, with Ashantigold set to begin a new chapter following the changes to their technical team.
