King Faisal FC owner and bankroller Alhaji Karim Grusah has called on Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku to resign, arguing that his leadership has failed to deliver significant progress in Ghanaian football.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Grusah said he supported calls for Okraku to step down, citing concerns over the development of the domestic league, juvenile football and the women's game.

“I support those calling for his resignation because in the last eight years of his administration, he has done nothing to improve Ghana football,” he said.

Grusah questioned the achievements of Okraku's administration, arguing that Ghana had yet to win a major international trophy during his tenure.

He also expressed dissatisfaction with the state of the Ghana Premier League, insisting that the domestic competition had not developed to the level expected under the current leadership.

“We cannot say we have a league now and every international trophy we won came long before he became the FA president. So, what is his achievement?” he queried.

The outspoken football administrator said a change in leadership could provide an opportunity for Ghana football to pursue a different direction.

He added that the GFA had several capable individuals who could take over the presidency if Okraku decided to leave office.

Grusah cited the emergence of former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi as an example of how new leaders could rise within the association, noting that Okraku's eventual ascent to the presidency had not been widely anticipated before he succeeded Nyantakyi.
