The Black Queens of Ghana will look to secure their place in the third round of the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games when they host Mauritius in the second leg of their second-round tie on Tuesday.
The match will be played at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi, with Ghana holding a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg in Mauritius last Thursday.
Abigail Kim, Alice Kusi and Benedicte Simon scored as the Black Queens claimed a comfortable victory at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex, putting them in a strong position to advance.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s side are chasing qualification for the women’s football tournament at the Olympics for the first time in their history, having failed to qualify since the competition was introduced at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
The Black Queens head into the return fixture on the back of three consecutive victories across all competitions, boosting their confidence ahead of the decisive encounter.
The team held their official matchday training session at the Essipong Stadium on Monday evening as preparations intensified for the game.
Björkegren is expected to retain much of the squad that delivered the first-leg victory, although he could make changes to give other players an opportunity.
Mauritius, meanwhile, will be hoping to overturn the three-goal deficit and pull off an upset on Ghanaian soil to keep their Olympic qualification hopes alive.
The winner of the two-legged tie will advance to the third round, where they will face either Uganda or Zambia.
Tuesday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
