Tribe Culture Fest Chief Executive Officer Nana Boateng Gyimah has challenged Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams to provide evidence for allegations that the organisation received US$611,000 from private individuals and failed to refund the money.
Gyimah has categorically denied the claims, insisting that neither he nor his organisation received the alleged amount from any private individual in connection with the arrangements in question.
In a statement issued on Monday, 12 October 2026, the festival chief executive clarified that Tribe Culture Fest's contractual relationship was exclusively with the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
“For the record, Tribe Culture’s agreement was solely with the National Sports Authority and Ghana Tourism Authority. Neither I nor Tribe Culture Fest received the alleged US$611,000 from any private individual in connection with the arrangements in question,” he said.
Gyimah has called on the minister to produce documentary evidence to support his allegations, including any agreement, authorisation or consent linking him or the festival to the disputed financial arrangement.
He has also requested verifiable payment records identifying who made the payment, who received the money, when the transaction occurred and how the US$611,000 figure was established.
The CEO warned that the allegations could undermine his personal reputation and the integrity of Tribe Culture Fest if they continued to circulate without supporting evidence.
He has therefore urged Adams to substantiate the claims or withdraw them and publicly correct the record.
“I call on the Minister to substantiate his allegations or withdraw them and correct the public record or have my lawyers to deal with,” Gyimah stated.
The statement marks a direct challenge to the minister to provide evidence supporting the claims.
The minister's allegations and the disputed financial arrangement have not been independently verified in the information available for this report.
