Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, is set to face British light-heavyweight Dan Azeez in December 2026 after successfully winning the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title in Lagos, Nigeria.
Freezy Macbones secured the continental title with a unanimous points decision victory over Nigeria's Godday Adda.
Shortly after his victory, the Ghanaian was challenged by Azeez, who has agreed to fight the newly crowned champion.
The bout has subsequently been scheduled for December 2026, with Freezy accepting the challenge as he looks to take another step towards his ambition of becoming a world champion.
Azeez, 37, is a British professional boxer from Lewisham, London, who competes in the light-heavyweight division.
Nicknamed "Super", Azeez has built a reputation for his pressure-heavy style and work rate. He has won 23 of his professional fights, including 14 by knockout, while suffering three defeats and recording one draw.
He is also the first light-heavyweight to win all of the major domestic titles sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control, including the Southern Area, English, British, Commonwealth and European championships.
Azeez's challenge is not the only one facing Freezy Macbones, with fellow boxers Jacob Dickson, Ahmed Abdula, Elvis Ahorgah and Jonathan Tetteh also expressing interest in fighting the new WBO Africa champion.
Despite the growing list of potential opponents, Gyimah says his ultimate objective is to win a world title.
The Ghanaian is now working towards that goal, with the proposed December showdown against Azeez expected to provide another significant test of his credentials.
At the time of filing this report, Freezy Macbones had returned to his roots in Kumasi, where he was spotted at Kejetia celebrating his latest victory and the successful start to his continental title reign.
