A delegation from the World HUSNA Federation and the Ghana Police Service has begun preparations for the inaugural HUSNA Inter-Police and Northern Belt Youth Leagues.

The meeting was held at the HUSNA office in Tuba on 30 September 2026, under the theme "Operation Homeland Security".

The delegation included World HUSNA Federation founder Mahadi Mohammed and his secretary, Ing. Dr Mansuur Husein.

They were joined by Chief Ibrahim, also known as Kankapuuya Naa and Chief of Digari-1, who is President of the West African Subregion HUSNA Federation.

ASP Benjamin Amissah, Deputy Director of Sports at the Ghana Police Service, represented the Director of Sports, while ASP Madam Bernice Rashida Timbilla was also part of the discussions.

The meeting focused on preparations for the two competitions, which are aimed at promoting youth participation in sport while contributing to peace, unity and community security.

As part of efforts to strengthen the organisation of the competitions, Mr Abdul Majeed, an aide to Chief Ibrahim, and Mr Daniel Addo were invited to join the marketing and sponsorship committee.

Chief Ibrahim called on traditional leaders to support HUSNA Sports and help use sporting activities to promote peace and unity within communities.

He also pledged his support for the successful organisation of the competitions and donated a substantial amount of money towards the ongoing preparations.

Meanwhile, Mahadi Mohammed, who is also President of the Ghana Fencing Association, announced that two slots would be reserved for young people from the Talensi Traditional Area to participate in the 2027 Fencing World Championship in Turkey.

Preparations will also include the selection and training of 10 young people from Bolgatanga to participate in the Northern Belt Youth League.

The organisers say the initiative will provide opportunities for young people while using sport as a tool for community development and security awareness.

The HUSNA Inter-Police and Northern Belt Youth Leagues are scheduled to take place from 10 to 23 October 2027 at the HUSNA office in Tuba.
