Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz says he is willing to resign if his departure would help solve the country’s football problems.
The Portuguese coach made the comments after the Black Stars suffered a 4-2 defeat to The Gambia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday.
Ghana surrendered a two-goal lead at the Accra Sports Stadium to suffer their second straight defeat in Group C.
At his post-match press conference, Queiroz was asked about his future after another disappointing result for the Black Stars.
The veteran coach said he would not oppose leaving his position if the Ghana Football Association (GFA) believes it would be the best solution for the national team.
“If you believe that with the coach resigning, you can change the situation of football in Ghana, I’ll be the first one to resign. I don’t have that belief,” he stated.
