Black Queens' outstanding bonuses and per diems paid

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Iddie Adams says the Black Queens have received all outstanding bonuses and per diems owed to them for the Pink Ladies Tournament and the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Adams made the disclosure when he appeared before Parliament’s Select Committee on Youth and Sports on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

His comments follow concerns previously raised by members of the Black Queens over unpaid bonuses and allowances.

The minister said all outstanding payments relating to the Pink Ladies Tournament had been settled, while the team had also received all bonuses and per diems due to them during the WAFCON in Morocco.

“The Black Queens have been paid all outstanding allowances in relation to the Pink Ladies Tournament, which was played earlier this year. For the Pink Ladies Tournament, they emerged victorious, so they have been paid everything that was due to them,” Adams told the committee.

“All pre-camping payments have also been made to the team and officials. During the WAFCON tournament, they were paid all the per diems and bonuses due to them. So, currently, the Queens are not owed any per diems or bonuses.”

The Black Queens now turn their attention to their bid to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Ghana will compete in the Preliminary Phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Play-Off Tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 24 November to 5 December 2026.

The Black Queens will open their campaign against Ecuador before facing Uzbekistan in their second match.

They will conclude the preliminary phase against Papua New Guinea.
