The Vice Chairman of the CAN 2008 Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Lepowura Alhaji M.N.D Jawula says all is set for the tournament.
According to him, the LOC has put in place effective mechanisms to take care of issues relating hotel, advertisement, stadia, transportation and ticketing.
Though the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had earlier raised concerns about the training pitches, he said at the moment virtually all the match centers have at least two training pitches ready.
The former GFA chairman indicated that even the South African national team which had earlier expressed reservations about playing in Tamale has shelved their fears after reports by representatives who inspected the facilities available.
“After some facility visits, all the teams have confirmed their participation, with CAF as an authority giving Ghana the green light for a take off of the tournament,” he noted in an interview.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA), previous host country has also expressed satisfaction with Ghana's preparation for the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations.
An Egyptian who just visited the country to acquaint himself with facilities earmarked for the tournament revealed this to the Lepowura.
The delegation led by Deputy Egyptian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Osama Hamdy visited the Miklin Hotel, and other facilities including transportation within the Kumasi metropolis.
Egypt thus becomes another high profile country to have expressed positive remarks about the preparation for the tournament after fellow North Africans, Tunisia who visited much earlier.
Egypt will be based in Group C in Kumasi with four-time champions, Cameroon, Sudan and Zambia.
Tunisia will be based in Tamale with fellow Group D opponents Senegal, South Africa and Angola.
