Morocco to face Ghana in Tangier friendly on 4 October

Morocco will host Ghana in an international friendly on Sunday, 4 October 2026, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has announced.

The match will be played at the Grand Stade de Tanger, also known as the Ibn Battuta Stadium, and will kick off at 19:00 local time.

The fixture was arranged after Ghana's planned friendly against Tanzania was cancelled, paving the way for the FRMF and Ghana Football Association (GFA) to agree on the encounter.

The match will form part of both teams' preparations during the September-October international window.

Morocco will first begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Gabon at home on 25 September before travelling to face Lesotho four days later.

Ghana will also begin their Group C campaign away to Ivory Coast on 24 September before playing The Gambia.

The friendly will give Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi an opportunity to assess his squad, including potential new additions, against strong opposition.

For Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz, the game will provide another test for the Black Stars as they continue preparations for their upcoming international assignments.

The Grand Stade de Tanger has hosted a number of major international fixtures and will provide the venue for the meeting between the two African sides.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 local time in Tangier.
