Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan has backed the Black Princesses to bounce back stronger after their early exit from the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Ghana were eliminated at the group stage after suffering a 4-0 defeat by France in their final Group C match on Saturday, 12 September.

The Black Princesses began the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Ecuador before responding with a 3-0 victory over South Korea in their second game.

However, the heavy defeat by France left Ghana with three points from three matches and ended their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages.

Despite the disappointing campaign, Gyan, who serves as an ambassador for Ghana's national teams and Colts football, urged the players to remain positive and continue working towards their goals.

"There are more opportunities. I know some of you will be asking yourselves, 'Where do we go from here? What are we going to do?' But I can assure you that nobody knows tomorrow," Gyan told the players.

"It will be ending day by day. So, just have faith in yourself. Keep on doing your training. Keep your faith high.

"And I'm sure the future is bright because of the way you've performed from day one till now; nobody can say anything bad. But we didn't get the result we wanted."

Gyan encouraged the players to use the disappointment as motivation to improve and return stronger in future competitions.

"We are out, but we are not done. From here, we think about ourselves. We think about how we are going to come back stronger," he added.

The Black Princesses' elimination continues Ghana's wait for a major breakthrough at the U-20 Women's World Cup, but Gyan believes the players can still build successful careers from the experience in Poland.
