Afrikicks Cup 2026 ends in Niamey

The 2026 Afrikicks Cup came to a thrilling conclusion at the Ecole Primaire Kouado in Talladjè, Niamey, Niger, as AS Kouado 2 emerged champions after 90 minutes of competitive action against Calico.

AS Kouado 2 were crowned the 2026 Afrikicks Cup champions, completing a memorable campaign with a hard-fought victory over Calico in the grand finale. The decisive encounter drew football enthusiasts, supporters and members of the Talladjè community, who turned out in numbers to witness the crowning moment.

Speaking in an interview, Oumarou Idrissa, President and Founder of the Los Angeles-based charity organisation Afrikicks, said the organisation’s mission goes beyond football, with a strong focus on improving the lives of children across Africa by providing access to potable water, school bags and other essential resources that support their education and wellbeing.

“Our vision is to see children across Africa have access to potable water, school bags and other essential resources that can improve their lives and support their education.”

Mr. Idrissa said Afrikicks would continue using football as a platform to bring communities together, nurture young talent and create meaningful opportunities for children and young people.

He added that the organisation remains committed to expanding its social-impact initiatives and reaching more communities across Africa.
