Queens Park Rangers head coach Julien Stephan says it is too early to determine the severity of Tariq Lamptey's latest injury after the Ghana international was forced off during Friday's Championship draw at Charlton Athletic.

Lamptey was substituted in the 35th minute of QPR's goalless draw at The Valley, with defender Jimmy Dunne also picking up an injury in a game that left Stephan concerned about his squad's fitness ahead of the weekend.

The result kept QPR fourth in the Championship table, but the Frenchman admitted he faces a challenge in selecting a competitive side for Saturday's meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

"Now we have to find a way to present a competitive team on Saturday. I will reflect on that," Stephan said after the match.

"It's difficult for me to give you more information about them (Lamptey and Dunne) because we have to assess them, but it doesn't present very well."

Lamptey's injury could also be a concern for Ghana ahead of next month's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d'Ivoire and The Gambia.

The 25-year-old joined QPR as a free agent earlier this season and has made a positive start to life at Loftus Road, contributing one assist in five appearances.

His form had put him in contention for a return to the Black Stars squad, but the extent of the injury is not yet known.
