Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has revealed that he is in discussions with several clubs and is not yet ready to bring his playing career to an end.
The 36-year-old disclosed on the Obi One Podcast, hosted by former Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel in Accra on Sunday, that he is currently weighing up offers as he searches for his next destination following his departure from Dutch side NAC Breda.
“I’m currently negotiating with two or three clubs. We’ll see what’s best for my family and me. The kids are growing, so we need to think about them,” Ayew said.
Despite being without a club since leaving NAC Breda during the summer transfer window, the former Ghana captain insists he still has the desire to continue playing at the highest level.
Ayew has remained active during his time in Ghana, regularly training and participating in matches in Legon, where FC Nania — the club founded by his father, Ghana football legend Abedi Pele — plays its home games.
The veteran forward said family considerations will play a significant role in determining his next move as he evaluates the options available to him.
During the podcast, Ayew also shed light on his growing involvement in football administration, revealing that he has served as Chief Executive Officer of FC Nania for several years.
“For a few years now, I've been CEO of FC Nania,” he said.
The disclosure is likely to fuel further speculation about Ayew’s long-term future in football beyond his playing career.
In recent months, reports have linked the former Marseille, Swansea City and West Ham United forward with a potential role in Ghana football administration, including suggestions that he could consider contesting the Ghana Football Association presidency when elections are held in 2027.
While Ayew remains focused on securing a new club and extending his playing career, his comments highlight an increasing involvement in football management that could shape his future after retirement.
