Ghana’s Black Princesses have departed Accra for Krakow, Poland, as preparations intensify ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Head coach Charles Sampson and his technical team travelled with 17 players on Sunday, 16 August, while the remaining members of the squad are expected to join the team in camp in Poland.
The West African side will use the training camp to fine-tune their preparations for the global tournament, with a series of international friendly matches lined up.
The games will allow Sampson to assess his squad, test different tactical approaches and finalise his plans ahead of Ghana’s opening fixture.
The Black Princesses will begin their World Cup campaign against Ecuador on 6 September before taking on Korea Republic and France in their remaining Group Stage matches.
Ghana will be aiming to make the most of their time in Poland by building match fitness, improving cohesion and gaining valuable experience against international opposition.
With the tournament fast approaching, the Black Princesses will hope the final phase of their preparations provides the momentum needed for a strong World Cup campaign.
