Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has admitted that Ghana faces a difficult challenge against Cameroon but insists he has full confidence in his players ahead of their crucial Group D encounter.
Ghana will take on the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with both teams heading into the fixture on the back of opening-match victories.
Speaking to the media on Saturday ahead of the game, the Swedish tactician acknowledged Cameroon’s quality but believes facing a strong opponent can bring out the best in his team.
"It is going to be a tough game against Cameroon, but I know my team very well, and I believe in them," Bjorkegren said.
"A difficult opponent usually means that we are a better Ghana team," he added.
The Black Queens secured a winning start to their campaign and know that another victory against Cameroon will seal their qualification to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Ghana are also targeting a strong finish at the competition, with a place in the semifinals set to guarantee qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The team will be hoping to continue their impressive run as they chase continental success.
