Bibiani Gold Stars Chief Executive Officer Akwasi Adu has confirmed the club is actively pursuing former Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Amoah is currently available as a free agent after his contract with Al Ahly Benghazi was terminated before the completion of his two-year deal.
The 24-year-old joined the Libyan outfit in October 2025 in a high-profile transfer but struggled to cement a place in the team. He subsequently returned to Asante Kotoko on a short-term loan in January 2026.
Speaking to Luv FM about the club's recruitment plans, Akwasi Adu disclosed that Gold Stars have already settled on 24 players and are targeting two or three additional signings to complete the squad.
The Bibiani-based club is particularly keen on bringing in Amoah as a replacement for leading scorer Samuel Atta Kumi, who recently completed a move to Iraqi side Al-Kahrbaa Club.
"We have 27 players. At least 24 are confirmed. We are just looking around to add one or two players to some departments of the team. I'm looking for Albert Amoah to replace Attah Kumi.
"Yes, I'm chasing Kotoko's Albert Amoah. I’m chasing him until he comes," he stated.
The Gold Stars CEO also revealed that the club has already addressed one of its defensive needs by signing a young centre-back from Young Apostles. He added that recruiting an attacking midfielder remains another priority before the transfer window closes.
"We are looking for one central defender, which we've gotten. We got this young player from Young Apostles, and the other role is an attacking midfielder," said Akwasi Adu.
Bibiani Gold Stars will kick off their 2026/27 campaign with an away fixture against Bechem United under the guidance of new head coach Petros Koukouras, who will be aiming to build on the club's recent success.
