2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship: We want to make Mother Ghana proud - Benjamin Tsivanyo ahead of Burkina Faso clash

Black Satellites winger Benjamin Tsivanyo has reiterated the team's determination to make Ghana proud as they prepare for a crucial Group B clash against Burkina Faso in the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, with kick-off set for 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

Ghana heads into the must-win fixture seeking to revive their campaign after suffering a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Nigeria in their opening group match on Monday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Tsivanyo said the players are highly motivated to reward the confidence shown in them by the technical team while fighting for the pride of the nation.

"We want to make our coach proud and also Mother Ghana. We're going to defend the name of our country," he said.

The winger also revealed the tactical approach the Black Satellites intend to adopt against Burkina Faso, stressing the importance of quick ball movement and strict adherence to the team's strategy.

"We have to rally on our technical abilities, play fast to avoid injuries. We're not going to allow them to close us down. We have to play fast and stick to the game plan," Tsivanyo said.

He added that the squad remains focused on securing all three points and restoring belief among Ghanaian supporters.

"We have to make Ghanaians proud, and we're determined to achieve that."

A victory over Burkina Faso would significantly boost Ghana's hopes of progressing to the knockout stage after the opening-day setback against Nigeria.
