Hearts of Oak have officially named Serbian coach Nebojsa Kapor as their new head coach as the club begins preparations for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Kapor succeeds Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who parted ways with the Phobians after the completion of the 2025/26 league season.
The Serbian tactician has signed a two-year contract with the Accra-based giants and becomes the club’s first major technical appointment ahead of the new season as the board begins a restructuring process aimed at returning Hearts of Oak to the top of Ghanaian football.
In an official statement, the club said Kapor’s coaching philosophy fits into the board’s long-term strategy of rebuilding the team and creating a foundation for sustained success.
“The Board is confident Coach Kapor has the leadership and technical competence to lead Hearts of Oak into a new era of stability and success,” the club stated.

The Phobians also confirmed that Kapor’s appointment is the beginning of a series of technical adjustments expected to be announced in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
Kapor brings with him previous experience in Ghanaian football, having managed Tema Youth in the Division One League before taking charge of Ghana Premier League clubs Bechem United and Medeama SC.
His knowledge of the domestic football environment is believed to have influenced Hearts of Oak’s decision to appoint him, with the club’s hierarchy viewing him as a coach capable of combining local experience with his technical expertise.
The Serbian coach is expected to lead Hearts of Oak’s charge for improved performances after a challenging period, with the club aiming to compete strongly for major honours in the upcoming season.
Hearts of Oak will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Berekum Chelsea.
The new Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to commence between September 4 and 7, 2026, and will run until the final weekend of May 28–31, 2027.
