Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante says he is determined to impress Coventry City manager Frank Lampard after helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old striker played a key role in Coventry City’s successful Championship campaign, contributing significantly as the Sky Blues earned a place in England’s top flight.
Lampard has consistently praised Thomas-Asante’s performances throughout the season, and the Ghana international says he values the manager’s support and encouragement.
His performance earned him a place in Ghana's squad for the 2026 World Cup, where the Black Stars exited at the Round of 32 after a 1-0 loss against Colombia.
Thomas-Asante revealed that his Coventry teammates and the coaching staff have remained in contact during Ghana’s campaign, and he hopes to repay their faith by returning with the ultimate prize.
"Yeah, they've been in touch," Thomas-Asante told ESPN. "When the games are coming, there'll be a little flurry of messages, which I'm very grateful for.
"It's been such a successful year, and a lot of my teammates at club level are part of the reason why I've been able to come to play in this team and this squad.
"I called one of my friends from the pitch after the last game just to let him be there as well, but there'll be nothing better than to bring home some extra silverware for them," he added.
Coventry City will begin their Premier League campaign with a difficult trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, with Thomas-Asante, who assisted in Ghana's 1-0 win over Panama, expected to play a key role in Lampard’s squad.
