Ghana international forward Felix Afena-Gyan has assured fans and the public that he is safe following a burglary at his residence in Italy.
The incident reportedly occurred over the weekend while he was away on national team duty with the Black Stars.
Several personal belongings were taken after his apartment was unlawfully accessed.
Concerns grew over the player’s safety following the incident.
However, in a statement issued from Bergamo on May 25, the camp confirmed the player's wellbeing."
“We would like to reassure fans, well-wishers, and the general public that Felix is safe, physically unharmed, and maintaining a positive mindset despite this unfortunate incident," the statement read in part.
The statement further noted that the matter has been formally reported to Italian authorities for investigation.
Police are currently working on the case as part of ongoing inquiries into the burglary.

It also cautioned the public and media against circulating intrusive content related to the incident, stressing the need for privacy as investigations continue.
