The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Simon Aworigo, has donated GHS 3,000 to support Navrongo Liberty Stars FC as the team competes in its maiden Middle League campaign in the Upper East Regional Football Association Division Two League.
Liberty Stars FC has emerged as one of the surprise packages of the competition, delivering impressive performances that have caught the attention of football enthusiasts across the region.
The team began its Middle League journey with a 1–1 draw against Bongo Beo Samba Stars, setting a promising tone for the rest of the campaign. The financial support from the MP is expected to further motivate the squad as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
Head coach Cherry Azanlerigu Mboma, popularly known as “Town Puller,” has been instrumental in the team’s remarkable run, instilling discipline and tactical strength in the side.
Liberty Stars, nicknamed the “Arise and Shine” boys, are now gearing up for a crucial week two encounter against Bolga Soccer Masters FC, with high hopes of securing a positive result.
