Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says the weather conditions in Morocco could give Ghana an edge in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The crucial Group I encounter takes place later today at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, with kick-off expected under relatively cool evening temperatures of around 28 degrees Celsius.
Addo believes the conditions will help his players perform at their best.
“I am happy that we don’t play in the afternoon," he told the Ghana FA website.
“It’s more going late into the evening, so it’s good, and this is truly an advantage for us and easier for our players to adapt,” Addo added.
Following tonight’s game, the Black Stars will return to Accra to conclude their qualifying campaign against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Having featured at four previous World Cup tournaments, Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, and Qatar 2022, Ghana is targeting a fifth appearance at the global showpiece, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
