The highly anticipated Global Warriors Champions event is set to deliver an electrifying night of international Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action at the Bukom Boxing Arena on May 3, 2025.
Headlining the event will be a thrilling clash between Ghana and Nigeria, supported by a lineup of exciting undercard bouts.
President of Ghana MMA, Jeff Taylor, described the event as a golden opportunity for those unfamiliar with the sport to experience the unique fusion of various combat disciplines—including boxing, wrestling, karate, taekwondo, and judo.
“MMA is the fastest-growing sport worldwide,” Taylor stated. “It’s creating job opportunities, keeping young people engaged, and steering them away from drugs and social vices. The discipline and time spent in the gym are life-changing.”
He also addressed public concerns about safety, saying, “MMA is often misunderstood. Like any sport, it carries risks, but it’s not as dangerous as many assume.”
Taylor called on fans of combat sports to fill the Bukom Boxing Arena and support Ghana’s own Jonathan Lamptey as he takes on Nigeria’s Victor Dooga in what promises to be the main event of the evening.
The night will also feature a range of side attractions, with entertainment and fun activities planned to keep the crowd energized and entertained.
Sports fashion designer and Ghana Judo member, Kwab Asamoah, who has recently joined the MMA community, also extended an open invitation to all sports lovers: “Come witness the energy and excitement of a sport that’s capturing the hearts of fans around the world.”
