Black Stars midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh has reflected on his experience of representing Ghana in the international stage.
The SC Freiburg midfielder, who was born in Ghana but moved to Germany at a young age, announced his decision to play for the four-time African champions in 2021.
Despite Ghana's failure to progress beyond the group stage at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, Kofi Kyereh established himself with his excellent performances.
However, injuries have limited his time with the team, keeping him out of the Black Stars for close to three years.
Despite the disappointment of not being available, Kyereh describes his time with Ghana as humbling and transformative.
"Representing Ghana on the international stage has been one of the most humbling and transformative experiences of my life. Personally, it’s about carrying the legacy and dreams of my family and community every time I step onto the pitch," he told Rolling Stone.
"Professionally, it’s a reminder of the hard work and sacrifices that have paved my journey and an opportunity to test myself against the best in the world while staying true to my roots," he added.
Kofi Kyereh, who also represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has made 18 appearances for the senior national team.
