Accra Lions FC has voiced concerns over the worsening state of Ghanaian football, citing critical challenges that threaten the sport's future.

The club described the current situation as a pivotal moment for Ghana football, urging swift reforms to restore professionalism, transparency, and sportsmanship in the domestic game.

In their statement, the Lions highlighted the deteriorating conditions in the Ghana Premier League, which they believe mirror broader struggles within the nation’s football landscape.

A key concern raised was the absence of a sponsor and a television rights deal for the league, issues the club says are damaging its credibility and appeal. They also linked the lack of sponsorship to questionable refereeing standards, warning that such shortcomings could further discourage potential investors.

Accra Lions criticised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for neglecting pressing issues, stating that unresolved incidents have "left us with more questions than answers."
