The Ghana U17 female national team has reached the final of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U17 Girls Cup.
Nicknamed the Black Maidens, the side cruised past its counterpart from Ivory Coast to a dominant 5-0 victory on Thursday afternoon in the first semi-final game of the tournament ongoing in Ghana.
In the game played at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, the Black Maidens had too much firepower up front to blow away the opponent.
Star attacker Christana Ashiaku was a menace, especially in the first half where she bagged a hat trick for the host nation.
The forward scored her first of the day after just 14 minutes to break the deadlock of the contest.
She scored twice later in the half to complete a sensational hat-trick and give her side total control at halftime.
With additional goals from Zipporah Ayantoya and Seidatu Wahab in the second half, Ghana sealed a 5-0 win to reach the final of the inaugural WAFU B U17 Girls Cup.
The Black Maidens will face the winner of the second semi-final game between Nigeria and Benin in the final.
That game will be played later tonight at 7 pm.
