2024/25 GPL Matchday 11 Wrap Up: Asante Kotoko suffer fourth defeat against Nations FC as Medemaa end GoldStars' unbeaten start

The Matchday 11 fixtures of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League have ended at the various stadia with interesting results.

On Saturday, Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Kronmansah Park were held to a 1-1 draw against Aduana FC. Morrison Anokye broke the deadlock for the home side in the first half before Abdel Bamba equalized for the Ogya lads.

Accra Lions at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium were also held to a goalless scoreline against Heart of Lions.

In the Sunday games, Asante Kotoko after three consecutive defeats were hoping to return to winning ways but suffered a 2-0 defeat against Nations FC to record their fourth consecutive defeats in the ongoing season.

Nafiu Sulemana capitalized on a mistake by goalkeeper, Mohammed Camara to break the deadlock before Faisal Charwetey scored to wrap up the win in the first half for the Abrankese-based side.

Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium were stunned 1-0 by Hearts of Oak. Hamza Issah's first half strike was enough as the Phobians recorded the win.

Medeama SC after two consecutive defeats returned to winning ways to end Bibiani GoldStars' unbeaten start with a 2-0 win at the TNA Park.

Derrick Fordjour broke the deadlock for the home side in the first half before Kelvin Nkrumah scored late in the second half to seal the win for the Yellow and Mauve side.

Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bechem United in the Bono derby.

Boat-At Regain scored a brace to propel the visitors to an important away win at the Golden City Park. He scored first in the 21st minute before Stephen Amankona pulled parity for the home side. But Boat-At Regain sealed victory 86th minute with a sublime finish.

Dreams FC made it a consecutive Premier League win after overcoming Vision FC 1-0 on the road. Abdul Razak Salifu's 82nd-minute strike separated the two teams at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.

At the Nsenkyire Sports Complex, FC Samartex suffered a 1-0 defeat against Young Apostles. Samuel Prempeh scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute to deliver a remarkable victory for the Premier League new boys.

At the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legon Cities FC moved out of the drop zone with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Basake Holy Stars.

Prince Opoku put the visitors ahead in the 15th minute through the spot kick before Frank Akoto and Kojo Gyasi scored for Cities.

Nations FC, Bibiani GoldStars, Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC occupy the top four spots while Legon Cities, Accra Lions and Karela United sit in the relegation zone.
