Inter earned their second win of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign with a stunning late win against Young Boys in Switzerland.
With the score level heading into added time at the end of 90 minutes, Marcus Thuram popped up with a late goal to seal a dramatic victory.
Young Boys dug deep and thought they had done enough for a well-earned draw against the European giants, but it was three of Simone Inzaghi's substitutes who broke them down in the dying moments.
Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco were both involved in the move, which was finished off by Thuram, who latched onto Dimarco's deadly delivery.
Inzaghi's side remain unbeaten after the opening three matches of the tournament's new format, which began with an impressive draw away at Manchester City and a thumping win over Red Star Belgrade.
Next, they host Premier League title hunters Arsenal in a mouthwatering clash at San Siro.
- CELTIC EARN VALUABLE DRAW IN ITALY
Celtic sealed a valuable draw on the road against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, as Brendan Rodgers' side continued their bid to escape the inaugural league phase.
Three weeks on from their crushing 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, Celtic responded well to draw 0-0 against the UEFA Europa League champions at Gewiss Stadium.
After surviving a frantic, high-pressure opening period, where Atalanta shook the crossbar through Mario Pasalic, the Scottish side began to grow into the game.
Atalanta continued to pose a constant threat down both flanks and Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was called into action on numerous occasions.
But the Scottish champions held firm to earn a hard-fought point, which has moved them into the round of 16 play-off spots.
With a tough start out of the way, with trips to Dortmund and Atalanta following their stunning opening victory against Slovan Bratislava, Celtic now have two consecutive home games to look forward to.
European football will return to Celtic Park in a fortnight when RB Leipzig visit, before Rodgers' side host Club Brugge towards the end of November.
- Atletico stunned at home by Lille
Jonathon David was in the mood as he bagged a brace in LOSC Lille’s 3-1 triumph over Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano..
Former Manchester City star Julian Alvarez put the Spanish side ahead after just eight minutes, but substitute Edon Zhegrova equalised for the visitors on the hour mark.
And then up stepped David - who also came off the bench - converteing a 74th-minute penalty to put the French side ahead.
With a minute of normal time to play, the 24-year-old added his second and a third for Lille as Bruno Genesio’s side wrapped up all three points in style.
Despite their opening defeat to Sporting Lisbon, Lille have responded excellently, with stunning wins over Real Madrid and their La Liga rivals Atletico.
- Wirtz on target as Leverkusen draw against Brest
Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen could not find a way past French side Brest in their encounter at Stade de Roudourou in Guingamp and were held to a 1-1 draw.
German star Florian Wirtz continued his prolific season to open the scoring in the first half, as he steered a shot from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner.
But 15 minutes later, Brest - who thrashed RB Leipzig 4-0 last time out - equalised through Pierre Lees-Melou's stunning strike.
The midfielder hit a sweet volley from the edge of the box, which nestled into the bottom left corner and earned the hosts a draw.
In the second half, Brest enjoyed the best of the action and frustrated Leverkusen, who could only rack up three shots to the hosts' nine.
Both teams have won twice and drawn in the competition so far - remaining unbeaten - and have the same record as the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Dortmund after the opening three matches.
Leverkusen travel to Merseyside for a blockbuster game against Liverpool next, with head coach Xabi Alonso returning to Anfield to face his old side, while Brest take on Sparta Prague.
- Benfica beaten as Feyenoord triumph
Benfica fell to a surprising loss against Feyenoord, slipping up after an excellent performance last time out.
Three weeks ago the Portuguese side thrashed Atletico 4-0, but they could not follow it up with a victory on Wednesday as Antoni Milambo scored twice for the visitors in a 3-1 win.
Elsewhere, Raphinha scored a hat-trick and Robert Lewandowski netted against his old team as Barcelona thumped Bayern Munich 4-1.
In Leipzig, Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool snatched a 1-0 win, and Erling Haaland was back on the scoresheet in Manchetser City’s win over Sparta Prague.
