
Ghana football icon and FC Nordsjaelland assistant coach, Michael Essien, has showered praise on Ivory Coast winger Simon Adingra for his outstanding performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final held on February 11, 2024.
Adingra's stellar display played a pivotal role in Ivory Coast's remarkable comeback, securing a 2-1 victory over Nigeria, with Adingra providing assists for both goals.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Essien lauded the talented graduate of the Right To Dream Academy, expressing admiration for his exceptional performance and extending congratulations on the victory.
"What a player, Felicitation mon @simon.adingra," wrote the former Chelsea star.
Adingra, representing Brighton and Hove Albion, was rightfully awarded the Man of the Match title for his remarkable contributions on the field.
Additionally, he clinched the Young Player of the Tournament award, finishing the event with two assists and a goal to his name.
The triumph not only secured victory for Ivory Coast but also levelled their AFCON title count with Nigeria at three each, marking a historic milestone for the nation.
