Veteran Ghana midfielder, Sulley Muntari has lifted his first trophy with Hearts of Oak just a month and some days after sealing a move to join the club.
The former Inter Milan midfield enforcer officially signed for the Phobians on February 1, 2022, after training with the club for a while.
Although many doubted his ability to play, the ex-Black Stars poster boy has excelled and has proven that he still has quality to play top-level football.
On Friday evening, Sulley Muntari started for Hearts of Oak when the team faced off with rivals Asante Kotoko in the 2022 President’s Cup.
The veteran on the matchday, lasted over 70 minutes of the action and inspired his side with his composure in midfield complemented with excellent organisation.
In the end, a 2-1 win for Hearts of Oak ensured that the team clinched the President’s Cup to the disappointment of Asante Kotoko.
The trophy is the first Sulley Muntari has won with the Phobians since joining the club last month.
The former Uefa Champions League winner could win more at the end of the season should Hearts of Oak enjoy success in either the Ghana Premier League or MTN FA Cup competitions.
