Ghana international, Kudus Mohammed, trained with his Ajax Amsterdam teammates on Tuesday.
The Dutch club are in Portugal for their winter break camp ahead of the second round of the Eredivisie.
The 21-year-old has been named in the Black Stars 28-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] which starts on January 9.
However, the former FC Nordsjaelland star was expected to team up with his Ghana teammates in Doha but joined his club teammates for their winter break camp in Lisbon.
The latest developments continue to fuel rumours that the brilliant attacking midfielder could miss the tournament which will be hosted in Cameroon.
But reports in the local media suggest that Kudus will join the Black Stars on Wednesday or Thursday.
Kudus is yet to make an appearance since picking up an injury in Ghana’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against South Africa in November at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The former U-20 star has registered 3 goals and 2 assists in his 8 starts for the Black Stars.
Ghana will fly to Yaounde for the tournament on January 7. The Black Stars are housed in Group C alongside Gabon, Morocco and Comoros.
