Veteran football broadcaster, Kwabena Yeboah, has unequivocally said Abedi Ayew Pele is in a different class compared to other Ghanaian players.
Pele, who is a Champions League winner with Olympique Marseille is one of the best players to have ever played for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
According to the host of Sports Highlights on GTV in an interview said he never saw Abedi Pele flop even once during his playing days.
“Apart from Mohammed Polo, I haven’t seen any player like Abedi Pele in this country. I never saw him flop in a single match,” he told Starr FM.
“And he was the reason I developed love for colts football. Even as a young boy, I used to follow him all over the place.
“Those days we had the first division, second division and colts and Abedi Pele was the reason I was going to the stadium at 9am. I just go there to watch him play,” he added.
Pele won numerous titles with the French giants, including Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.
He was also a member of the Ghana side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982, later becoming the captain of the Black Stars.
Abedi magic performances saw him become the first player to be crowned African Footballer of the Year three times by CAF.
Despite his performance with the Black Stars, Pele was never able to win the Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] with Ghana.
