Hearts of Oak have been officially Crowned Champions of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians today were handed the enviable title after the final game of the season against WAFA SC.
In a game played at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena, Hearts of Oak lost by a lone goal as WAFA SC secured the third finish to bag GHS80,000 in prize money.
Winning the Ghana Premier League, the Champions will receive GHS250,000 as prize money and also secures the right to represent the country in next season’s CAF Champions League competition.
En route to becoming Ghana Premier League Champions this season, Hearts of Oak won 17 games, drew 10, and lost seven in the process.
Having amassed 61 points from the 34 matches, the team scored 45 goals and conceded 21 at the end of the season.
This is the 21st Ghana Premier League title for Hearts of Oak. The team is into the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup and hopes to lift the title to win a double.
